Doorway Supermarket

Many of you already know about the wonderful free literacy, numeracy and typing activities that are available at www.doorwayonline.org.uk

A new resource, Doorway Supermarket, will be available to trial from mid-October, and the developer is looking for teachers in Scottish schools and colleges with National 2 courses to help.  You’d get to trial the resource, and would be part of a feedback group.

Doorway Supermarket

The activity has been designed with students following a National 2 course in mind, and basically simulates a trip to the supermarket.  As well as covering money, change etc, the skills of estimation and rounding are practised.  The prices in the activity are current, and it aims to give as realistic an experience of going to the supermarket as is possible.

If you are interested in taking part in the trial, email admin@doorwayonline.org.uk  You can also visit http://www.doorwayonline.org.uk/news/ for more information.

  1. Thanks for the mention. Could I ask you to make clear that we are looking for teachers in schools and colleges with National 2 courses, to be early adopters/feedback group in mid October. They will be using a private link to the Doorway Supermarket activity. Also they will be invited to join an e-group of users.
General access will be later. Thanks,
Philip Whittaker, Chairman, the Doorway Accessible Software Trust
